Hawke’s Bay Regional Prison requires a fit for purpose staff facility on site so the Buyer, the Department of Corrections (the Department) has initiated a project to build a singular consolidated staff facility outside the wire at the prison.
This project will provide fit for purpose staff facility outside the wire that supports staff safety and wellbeing and provide spaces for staff training programmes and initiatives.
The scope of work includes the following construction activities:
• A new purpose-built Staff Facilities building featuring two (2) training rooms (expandable with operable wall), gym, changing areas, communal area, laundry room and plantroom.
• Building services including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, drainage, stormwater disposal.
• Energy efficient construction including solar panels on the roof and rainwater harvesting.
