The University of Canterbury (UC) operates a wide range of laboratories to support teaching and research across multiple faculties. Historically, general laboratory equipment has been procured independently by individual schools and departments.
Since 2024, UC has adopted a consolidated procurement approach, combining university-wide requirements into a single coordinated sourcing initiative. This approach continues in 2026, aiming to improve procurement efficiency, leverage economies of scale, and ensure consistency in equipment standards across the institution.
This project seeks to source commonly used general laboratory instruments and equipment to support the operational and research needs of UC’s scientific and technical facilities. The opportunity will be released to UC preferred laboratory suppliers under the Syndicated Plant & Food (P&F) contract, ensuring a competitive and controlled procurement environment.
