The University of Canterbury (UC) is planning to acquire a physisorption analyser to strengthen its research infrastructure and analytical capability within the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering (CAPE).
This instrument is a critical analytical system used to characterise material properties such as surface area, pore size distribution, and adsorption behaviour. It supports advanced research in materials science, catalysis, gas processing, and energy systems.
The Department currently operates a single physisorption unit, which is heavily oversubscribed, resulting in significant delays for researchers and students. The acquisition of an additional system will increase analytical capacity, enable simultaneous measurements, and reduce reliance on external testing, improving research efficiency and output.
