The University of Canterbury (UC) operates a wide range of laboratories across its campus in support of both teaching and research. In previous years, general laboratory equipment was procured independently by individual schools, departments, and research units.
To improve procurement efficiency and cost-effectiveness, in 2024, UC implemented a consolidated approach, combining university-wide requirements into a single procurement initiative. This coordinated strategy aims to streamline the purchasing process, leverage economies of scale, and ensure greater consistency in equipment standards across the institution.
This project seeks to source commonly used general laboratory instruments and equipment that support the broad operational needs of UC’s scientific and technical facilities. The opportunity will be made available exclusively to UC’s preferred laboratory suppliers under the syndicated contract agreement.
