University of Canterbury is considering purchasing a Particle Size Analyser.
UC requires a new particle size analyser to enable teaching / research activities. Particle size determination is an important component of research and teaching in School of Earth and Environment.
This equipment will work in the whakapapa of a place, such as the Hoon Hay stormwater pond site history, Whakaraupo history, or assisting with mahinga kai; helping determine the makeup of soils and sediments, water quality, and analysing volcanic sediments and tsunami deposits, thus sitting within Vision Matauranga and Pasifika research areas.
With this equipment the school and UC are adding a high-quality research and teaching tool to its arsenal, and opening up collaboration across Aotearoa New Zealand as well as internationally as it is widely used in other institutions within Aotearoa New Zealand as well as globally.
