University of Canterbury is seeking a solution for a Bioreactor with Chemostat and Turbidostatic Functionality.
This equipment will be supporting research activities across the Chemical and Process Engineering department research units.
The primary purpose of this project is to perform the cultivation of prokaryotes (bacteria and archaea) and provide controlled environments for subsequent physiological, transcriptional and ecological experimentation.
This purchase will support research efforts to describe maintenance energy requirements and biogeography of New Zealand’s unique extremophilic microorganisms and will support capability for undergraduate teaching and commercial opportunities
