Overview

This is a Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO). A FPO is an alert to suppliers of a potential upcoming procurement activity, though does not represent a commitment by MPI to procure, however provides an indication to the market about the potential future activity. Suppliers can subscribe to this FPO, and MPI may use this list to assist with market research. When the Request for Tender (RFT) is released, the FPO will be linked to the RFT so that those suppliers who have subscribed to the FPO will get automatically notified of the RFT being released.

MPI is preparing to undertake a tenant fitout for its newly leased office space at the Tower block building located within AgResearch’s Ruakura campus in Hamilton. This project will cover Level 2 and Level 3 of the building and is scheduled to commence in March–April 2026 with hard completion being 31-July 2026.
The fitout will support MPI’s operational needs and create a modern, functional workspace. Contractors will be invited to participate via GETS once the detailed design and working drawings are finalized.

Fitout works mainly consists of:
- Building and Carpentry works – New walls, partitions, insulation.
- Plaster and paint
- New Joinery
- New Floor coverings
- New Kitchen-café area
- New Toilet-shower facilities and upgrading existing ones.
- Modify ceiling in few areas and install new tiles.
- Building Services works – Electrical, Fire, Plumbing and HVAC.

The indicative release date of the RFT is in early December. Details on prospective site visits in Hamilton will be outlined in the RFT.
