Overview

MPI wishes to procure the services of qualified and suitable suppliers for appropriate and cost-effective sampling and testing, method development, and laboratory expertise for its following programmes:

The National Chemical Residues Programme (NCRP) for meat, fish and honey. The NCRP collects and tests samples from randomly and targeted selected animals or animal products. The NCRP monitors the authenticity and residue and contaminant status of live animals sent for slaughter and processing;

The National Chemical Contaminants Programme (NCCP) monitors milk and dairy products to confirm that residue or contaminant levels do not exceed acceptable limits for New Zealand and export markets;

The Independent Verification Programme (IVP) monitors dairy products to confirm that they meet microbiological integrity;

The Food Residues Survey Programme (FRSP) monitors residues and contaminants in domestic and imported plant-based food intended for sale in New Zealand's domestic market.
