The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) will be going to market later this year for a range of sampling, testing, technical expertise and support services for the following four New Zealand Food Safety programmes:
National Chemical Residues Programme (NCRP)
National Chemical Contaminants Programme (NCCP)
The NCRP and NCCP are a vital part of the New Zealand system for managing the risk of chemical residues and environmental contaminants in New Zealand animal products. They support New Zealand’s food industry and primary producers by facilitating access to key export markets and confirming New Zealand’s status as a producer of safe food. The programmes encourage and verify good agricultural practices, help to identify potential problems and indicate where follow-up action is needed.
Independent Verification Programme (IVP)
The IVP monitors conformance of dairy products for microbiological parameters (food safety and process hygiene).
Food Residues Survey Programme (FRSP)
The FRSP monitors agricultural chemical residues in domestically grown and imported plant-based foods intended for sale in New Zealand’s domestic market.
Further information on the programmes and what we will be looking for can be found in the attachments to this Future Procurement Opportunity (FPO). Suppliers interested in testing may tender for a single suib-programme or for any combination of sub-programmes. Suppliers interested in sampling may tender for a single sampling programme, or any combination of sampling programmes.
This FPO is an alert to suppliers of a potential upcoming procurement activity, though does not represent a commitment by MPI to procure. It does, however, provide an indication to the market about the potential future activity. Suppliers can subscribe to this FPO, and MPI may use this list to assist with market research. When the Request for Proposal (RFP) is released, this FPO will be linked to the RFP so that those suppliers who have subscribed to it will be automatically notified.
