The objective of this procurement is to contract an accredited PEPPOL service provider for the MPI FMIS system to be fully ready to both send and receive e-invoices. This is required to meet the government mandate by January 2026.

New Zealand’s eInvoicing initiative was introduced as part of a broader effort to enhance digital business transactions, reduce costs, and improve efficiency. New Zealand Government adopted the Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line (PEPPOL) framework to enable standardized and secure eInvoicing officially in 2019.

Though MPI Financial Management Information System (FMIS) is capable with eInvoicing functionalities, we must contract an approved PEPPOL provider to enable these functions from end to end.
