Overall Objective:

To carry out a stock assessment of ling (Genypterus blacodes) from the west coast of the South Island including estimating biomass and sustainable yields.


Specific Objectives:

1. To complete a descriptive analysis of the commercial catch and effort data, trawl survey data, and observer data for ling off the west coast of the South Island (LIN 7).
2. To complete a stock assessment for LIN 7 including estimates of current biomass and yields, the status of the stock in relation to management reference points, and future projections of stock status as required to support management.
