Overview

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is intending to procure a supplier to support the Government of Vanuatu (GoV) increase renewable energy in the Islands of Efate and Tanna.

This future procurement opportunity (FPO) is an update to the FPO (GETS ID 30183850) which previously advised that we would be seeking a supplier to provide the design and construction of a 4.8 MWp solar PV with 6 MWh BESS on the Island of Efate and 1.2 MWp solar PV with 2.5 MWh BESS on the Island of Tanna. These projects will need to be constructed in parallel. Furthermore for Tanna, it is expected the EPC contractor will include provision for a 2 year Operation and Maintenance contract. The Ministry will be conducting a two-stage procurement process a Registration of Interest (ROI) and Request for Proposal (RFP).

An addendum to the FPO was issued in February 2025 stating that as a result of the earthquake that struck Vanuatu in December 2024, the impact of the damage and repairs required was being reviewed.

Update May 2025:
Following on from the above FPO, the scope is being updated and the ROI is expected to be released in May 2025.
