Overview

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) is looking for a Senior Asset & Infrastructure Adviser to support Niue to embark on a change in their approach to asset and infrastructure management. As part of this approach Government of Niue has established a Senior Asset and Infrastructure Adviser role within the Office of the Secretary of Government to provide high level expert technical oversight and operational direction.

The New Zealand Government is partnering with Government of Niue to support this endeavour through the New Zealand Aid Programme.

This role will appeal if you are interested in being part of a programme that directly contributes to enhancing the livelihoods of Niuean's. The initial assignment will be for a maximum of 460 days based in Niue. The contract will commence in late February 2024.

Working within the Office of the Secretary of Government in Niue you will be required to build positive and productive relationships with senior government officials and key stakeholders. You will have the ability to recognise the importance of stakeholder engagement, quickly grasp and understand technical issues, be highly organised and self-motivated and understand and respect the culture and diversity of the environment. This is an important technical advisory position with the Government of Niue, the appointee will therefore be expected to adhere to the professional standards of a senior technical advisor and maintain integrity, objectivity and political neutrality during the assignment.
