The New Zealand Aid Programme, managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is currently developing an activity to mobilise private investment in the Pacific. The proposed activity, InvestPacific, aims to create a New Zealand-based impact investment fund to deliver positive social and environmental impact as well as financial returns.
InvestPacific is expected to be a blended finance fund made up of public and private capital aimed at investing in mid-tier Pacific businesses and projects. Accompanying the fund will be a technical assistance programme to support investment identification, investment readiness and ongoing management support.
If this activity moves to implementation we will be looking for a number of implementation partners, in particular a fund manager with experience in impact investing and raising capital.
