MFAT of Foreign Trade and Affairs (MFAT) is inviting Registrations of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Suppliers to scope, plan and execute a sequence of relocations, both within building as well as removal of furnishings out of the building) to support a fit out upgrade programme in MFAT’s Head Office.

The Mahi Anamata project will deliver a change in office layout for 10 floors of MFAT’s head office in HSBC Building, Wellington. Each floor will need to be vacated temporarily to allow the works to occur. This will need to happen in a phased approach where displaced staff need to be accommodated at other floor levels. All of this work needs to occur with and within tight space, time, security, storage and other limitations or restrictions. The programme of works is not yet confirmed, but likely to occur between late June and mid-November.
MFAT is looking for a supplier who can test (and improve where needed) the feasibility of MFAT’s phased approach to relocations, scope the work, which will include liaising directly with all MFAT as well as external stakeholders, such as:
- Managers or representatives of affected business divisions (people being relocated. i.e. almost all of approx. 800 MFAT staff in the building)
- construction and furniture suppliers
- Fit out Project manager (The Building Intelligence Group)
- MFAT security and suppliers
- IT staff
- Facilities Management staff
- Records and Archives staff
- Procurement advisor
- Communication manager
- Change manager
- Relocations Company (to be procured)
- and of course the MFAT internal project team

MFAT is not looking for relocation services in this tender. The successful supplier would be ineligible to bid for the relocations work when it is openly tendered.
