Overview

New Zealand is a founding member of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum and is hosting APEC in 2021. This year of hosting the APEC calendar of events also offers us a chance to show the world both what New Zealand can do, and how we can do it. We want to be proud of our manaakitanga, our technical sophistication, the breadth and inclusivity of our engagement, and our sustainable approach.
Key to our success will be the ability to tell a consistent, inspirational story about APEC to our many audiences. The APEC 2021 narrative is the story which will shape the look and feel of the programme, and has three foundational blocks: ‘Our Place: Kaitiakitanga’, ‘Our Strength: Integrity’, and ‘Our Future: Ingenuity.
Also integral to delivering a successful APEC 2021 is that we deliver a high-quality APEC year with all APEC participants experiencing friendly, authentic New Zealand hosting, from the first contact to the last farewell, both physically and virtually.
What we need now is to develop an overall unifying thematic concept for the meetings and experiences across the hosting year. The theme should be one that reflects all of the work done to date, and draws particularly on the APEC21 narrative and visual identity to help shape and enhance the look and feel of the APEC2021 experience.

A key deliverable dates are;
• Submit brief resume including capability and prior experience in this space, and how they work with clients and other creatives by 10 July 2020.
• Presenting to APEC NZ panel occurring prior to 24 July 2020.
• Venues creative concept design and indicative budget developed by September 2020.
• Concept costings and budgets finalized late-September 2020.
