The New Zealand Government has partnered with the Government of Kiribati to provide a Team Leader who will coordinate and oversee progress under the Kiribati Fisheries Program including all Technical Advisers under the Kiribati Fisheries Program. The Team Leader will be accountable to the Kiribati Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resource Development and New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on technical delivery of the Program.
• One year, full time (potential second year, full time may be agreed subject to availability of funding)
• Residential in Tarawa – Early 2020 start date
• New Zealand Government support program
The key objectives of this role are to manage and oversee performance of a team of MFAT contracted fisheries technical advisers, embed in the Kiribati Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resource Development sound program/project, financial, risk and results management systems to meet donor accountability standards, provide grant funding management support, advice, coaching, monitoring and reporting as required, work closely with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resource Development staff fisheries technical advisors, and external partners, to coordinate the implementation of the Fisheries Program and to instigate progress towards achieving Program results in line with Government of Kiribati expectations in the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resource Development Strategic Plan.

The initial assignment will be for a period of one-year, full time (potential second year, full time may be agreed subject to availability of funding) spent working with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources Development in Kiribati.
