MFAT of Foreign Trade and Affairs (MFAT) is seeking a single solution that can cohesively and collaboratively support business requirements for three independent but comparable business functions.
The three business functions are:
• Diplomatic Protocol Unit (DPU):
Supports Foreign Diplomats accredited to, and predominantly located in, New Zealand. DPU offer a service request submission and fulfilment process that assists in the administration of s diplomatic privileges and immunities as applied in New Zealand.
• New Zealand Inc. Operational Planning Unit (PDS):
Supports staff from NZ Government agencies, other than Ministry Staff, that are posted off-shore to represent New Zealand at a diplomatic level. Formally referred to as NZ Inc., these NZ Diplomats are offered support through the posting and relocation process and provision of advice once at Post.
• Diplomatic Passports:
Addresses requests for the issuance of a “Letter of Eligibility” that must accompany an application for a Diplomatic Passport when submitted to the Department of Internal Affairs. It also addresses the requirement for the Ministry to keep a list of all Diplomatic Passports issued, to assist in administration of diplomatic passports and diplomatic incident management.
A value-add outcome will also provide an enterprise solution that will not only prove the viability of a multi-function solution, but offer insight and learnings for future delivery of the MFAT Product Roadmap.
