The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) is seeking information regarding products and services available in the market relevant to our forthcoming Myanmar Dairy Inclusive Growth and Development initiative. This activity will take a Market Systems Development (MSD) approach.

This is a Request for Information (RFI) only and will not be used to select any suppliers. Please subscribe to this notice in order to access the RFI document.

The purpose of this RFI is to gather market intelligence from suitably qualified and experienced organisations to inform our business planning. Through this RFI, MFAT seeks to gain a better understanding of the nature of the market for MSD, and in association with this approach, the availability of expertise in dairy sector development and in working in Myanmar and neighbouring markets.

MFAT intends to use the information and greater understanding gained through this RFI to develop and release an open Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design and implementation of a dairy MSD intervention in Myanmar. The design stage will commence in the second half of 2019 and is anticipated to finish by June 2020, when implementation will begin.

MFAT has an indicative budget of NZD $5.5m - $8.0m for the implementation of the project over four to six years, depending on the findings of the design.

Note that participation in this RFI is NOT a requirement for later participation in any RFP released to the market for MFAT's next stage of investment in the Myanmar dairy industry.
