The New Zealand Government has partnered with the Government of Fiji to provide veterinary services to the livestock sector in Fiji through the Ministry of Agriculture. We are looking to provide three Veterinarians with expertise in the livestock sector.
Working closely with existing Ministry of Agriculture Veterinarian staff, three registered Veterinarians are required to provide veterinary services to lifestock in Fiji and provide advice to the Ministry of Agriculture on veterinary issues. The outcomes of this assignment will be in increasing the capacity of the Ministry of Agriculture to manage everyday tasks and provide greater management of disease outbreaks such as Tuberculosis and Brucellosis; and provide exposure of international best practice to the Ministry of Agriculture Veterinary staff. Contracted by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), daily management of the three veterinarian roles will be the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture Director of Animal Health and Production.
