Description
The Ministry is seeking proposals for the provision of cost consultant services for a construction project at Red Hill School with the physical works estimated to cost $11.8m
Project background
Red Hill School is located on a 3.1ha site in Red Crest Ave, Papakura, Auckland, and comprises & discrete blocks linked by covered walkways and paved playgrounds.
The school caters for 216 students in years 1 to 8. The New Schools Programme has recently completed a master plan for re-development of the school (refer
Appendix A) which will (when completed) provide accommodation for 228 students whilst also allowing forfuture expansion to cater for up to an additional 470 students.
The scope of the work for the major redevelopment encompasses:
a) The construction of a temporary relocatable classrooms precinct (including infra-structure)
b) The demolition of the existing school classroom blocks administration buildings and surrounding
pavements/infra-structure
c) Construction of 10 single level teaching spaces.
d) The construction of administration, staff facilities and a library;
e) Redevelopment of on-site car parking and safe student drop-off areas;
f) Replacement of some site infrastructure.
g) Some re-contouring of the site to ensure that all development is clear of overland flow paths.
