This extends to Blocks 1, 2 and 3 flat roofs and the entire metal roof on Block 4. Both the Blocks 1 and 2 membrane roofs are proposed to be replaced with a warm roof solution. Skylights are to be removed. Due to the proposed roof pitch changes the clerestory windows are to be altered and replaced complete with manual winding gear. The Block 3 flat metal roof is to be replaced with improvements to the pitch. The clerestory windows are to be replaced, complete with manual winding gear. The entire roof of Block 4 is to be replaced including development of 450 mm extended gable ends. The wall cladding is an asbestos product; this is to be replaced with timber weatherboards. Some consequential interior work is required that includes the replacement of damaged ceiling and wall linings. The works will be carried out in a phased approach utilising school holidays where possible and with an agreed sequential delivery to minimise disruption to normal school operations. The asbestos removal will need to be undertaken during school holiday periods.

Overview:	The Contract Works required are: The proposal is to undertake roofing replacement and remediation works across various blocks at Aokautere School. Works include the removal and replacement of existing metal roofing, flashings, underlay, translucent roofing and spouting, along with associated roof penetration and weather-tightness repairs. Additional works include skylight removal and reinstatement, replacement of defective timber purlins where required, relocation of heat pump units, disposal of existing roof mounted solar panels and associated making good. BEA review is required, and the Ministry of Education Construction Observation Team will monitor the works to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards. All work to comply with manufacturer’s specifications and recommendations. All tender documentation and necessary information attached. Contractors MUST visit site for tender to be compliant. Contact the noted representative in Invite Letter to arrange a site visit. Ideally dependent on MoE funding approval this work would start as soon as possible after confirmation provided, however this will be discussed with the successful contractor and school once funding approvals are confirmed.
