The Ministry of Education (the Ministry) is inviting Registrations of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Suppliers to provide the following construction services:
Acting as Main Contractor for building works at Hawera Primary School.
Generally, the works will comprise the following elements (detailed design & specification will be released at Stage 2 of the tender process):
Remedial building works and upgrade of Block A (Administration, Library, Classrooms x5, ICT, Staffroom and Amenities)
- Partial demolition of the building (Kitchen, Resource Room, Classroom x1)
- Structural upgrade to meet seismic performance requirements.
- Partial recladding and reroofing (including installation of solar tubes) to improve building envelope performance.
- Major interior refurbishment and upgrade.
- Removal of glazed façade elements and replacement with exterior cladding.
- Fire and accessibility upgrade to meet Building Code requirements.
- Electrical and data systems upgrades.
The School will continue to operate during the works: a Certificate of Public Use (“CPU”) is expected to be required and the Contractor will assist in providing the relevant documentation to secure a Certificate of Code Compliance (“CCC”) upon completion.
The value of construction work is estimated to be in the region of $1 - $1.2 Million Dollars.
The Contract is anticipated to commence around March 2015 with the contract duration anticipated to be 4 – 6 months.
