The buildings at Ōtaki School are currently reliant on an original Type 1 bell system and interfaced security system as its fire protection infrastructure.

A new and comprehensive Type 4 system will be installed with a new main indicator panel, compliant exterior sounder coverage, lock down facility and direct fire service connection.

The existing security system will have its smoke detectors isolated, disconnected and removed.

The monitored security system will revert back to intruder detection only.
