Overview

The Contract Works required are: Site Wide Fire Alarm Upgrade, including a new analogue addressable Type 4 automatic fire alarm system is to be installed throughout all buildings in scope, with the exception of Blocks A, & C which are to have a Type 3 automatic heat detection system. The new fire alarm system is to comply with NZS 4512:2021 in all respects. The existing Type 4 automatic fire alarm in Block R is to be interfaced with the new Type 4 site-wide system. The Type 3 heat detection required in the Block A changing sheds will be prewired as part of the current weather tightness rebuild project. Specifications for this work have been included for information only. Installation of the Type 3 system has been included in the scope for this project. Any new penetrations created in existing fire separations as part of the fire alarm installation are to be treated with systems tested for the proposed use in accordance with AS 4072.1:2005 and AS 1530.4:2005. Fire stopping systems shall only be installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and instructions.

Ideally dependent on MoE funding approval this work would start as soon as possible after confirmation provided, however this will be discussed with the successful contractor and school once funding approvals are confirmed.
