Puketapu School – Block A administration has faced ongoing weathertightness issues for over 15 years, primarily due to problems with the flat roof areas, including leaking rooflights, flooring failure, wall damage, and foundation issues.
The project aims to address these issues by re-cladding, replacing damaged framing, and installing new flashings and window plugs as shown on the Design Group Stapleton Elliot - DGSE Architects detailed design documentation.
Additional work includes removing skylights, replacing ceiling linings and carpet, installing new timber framed walls and roof structures, and relocating HVAC units. The project excludes the pitched roof areas unless linked to the flat roof remediation work. Decanting options for administration functions are available in Block M, subject to school discussions.
The focus is on infrastructure remediation, excluding any additional scope items like new timber decks and internal walls unless essential for water ingress damage and compliance unless instructed and approved by MoE.
