Two projects on the school’s 5YA have been combined for a single project with works to be undertaken throughout the school primarily to replace end of life elements and materials.
The Block S classroom building will have its metal roofing and spouting replaced including insulation. Skylights will be removed. The interior will be refurbished including replacement of flooring, acoustic pinboard to walls, installation of acoustic ceilings along with new LED lighting and replacement of both exterior and interior aluminium doors.
To Blocks J, L, M, R1, R2 and R3 selected works will be undertaken to address end of life replacement. This will include replacing rotten plywood cladding and weatherboard on a cavity, replace timber windows and doors with aluminium units including any asbestos cladding associated with these areas.
To Blocks R2 and R3 toilets will be refurbished replacing internal wall and ceiling linings, vinyl flooring, sanitary fittings, toilet partitions and electrical fittings including ventilation.
To the covered walkways the metal roofing and spouting will be replaced along with asbestos soffits, and the metal portal frames will be painted including for rust removal.
The work will be phased to minimise disruptions for the school. There is a separate major reconstruction project occurring at the school with which some coordination of works will be necessary. Accordingly, the school’s ability to decant about the site will be limited and have a significant bearing on the scope and phasing of work at any one time.
