The BOT at Korokjoro School are seeking the services of a main contractor to undertake the construction works to upgrade an accessible bathroom to make it a fully universal bathroom in Block A.
Outcome sought: A new MOE standard universal bathroom for the school in block A
• History: A student transitioned to Korokoro School as a Year 1 student in 2024. The student requires a full accessible bathroom in order to attend school. Adjacent female and male student bathrooms with also be constructed upon.
• Overview of the programme of which this project is a part: The project is due to be tendered in June 2025 for delivery in July.
• Requirements for phasing and / or staged handover of the project: Phasing or staging may be required to allow universal bathroom access initially while male and female bathrooms are completed. TBC once the contractors programme is reviewed.
The Contract Works required are:
i. Nature of the Works : Demolition of existing internal walls separating central accessible bathroom to extend footprint of new accessible bathroom. Make good to male and female bathrooms either side of new bathroom. Reconstruction of external windows as required with new internal layout.
ii. Size/scale: The size of the project works is limited to the three existing bathroom spaces in block A.
iii. Description of the site including conditions, known constraints:
(a) Asbestos Refurbishment Survey undertaken, no asbestos was found after intrusive testing.
(b) Existing condition of concrete floor in not level throughout. This will be adjusted in construction works.
(c) The existing lobbies to the female and male toilets were once external so claddings and windows will be adjusted as required for new construction
