Overview

The scope of remediation works for this project is in four parts:
a. Block 2 (Room 3 only)
b. Block 9 - Library & Classrooms
c. Block 10 - Hall
d. Block 11 - Classrooms
The scope of the remediation works has been established from the remediation inspection reports carried out by AS Jacobs and Kestrel in consideration of invasive investigations by Alexander & Co. The works will be part funded from the schools 2021 5YA budget with the remainder coming from the Ministry.

Block 2 (Room 3 only) = Demolition and rebuild.

Block 9 - Library & Classrooms = Replacement of direct fixed cladding with new cladding on a drained and ventilated cavity. Form new eaves with extended roof cladding to accommodate the cavity and shelter the walls. Replacement of decayed timber wall framing and internal linings where damaged. Installation of concrete nib walls to increase ground clearance of cladding to external walls and reform ground to isolated areas to fall away from the building. Replacement of joinery to all walls being reclad. Associated work to building services, structure and fire safety systems (passive and active).

Block 10 - Hall = Replacement of direct fixed cladding with new cladding on a drained and ventilated cavity including installation of new flashings. Form new eaves with extended roof cladding to accommodate the cavity and shelter the walls. Replace all roof fixings. Replace water damaged ceiling linings. Replacement of decayed timber wall framing and internal linings where damaged. Installation of concrete nib walls to increase ground clearance of cladding to external walls. Replacement of joinery to all walls being reclad. Associated work to building services, structure and fire safety systems (passive and active).

Block 11 - Classrooms = Replacement of all roof fixings and barge boards and installation of new verge flashings and apron flashings. Replacement of all direct fixed cladding above the walkway canopy roof level with new cladding on a drained and ventilated cavity including installation of new flashings and removal of clerestory windows and infill with wall. Replace water damaged ceiling linings. Replacement of decayed timber wall framing and internal linings where damaged. Associated work to building services, structure and fire safety systems (passive and active).
