The library at Hampden Street School has a number of weathertightness issues which need to be remediated.
The Library is a timber framed building on a concrete slab, clad in Hardies weatherboards and timber rusticated weatherboards.
The roof is galvanised corrugated iron and tray roofing, with a large section of low pitched butynol on plywood.
The project will comprise reroofing the whole building, and repitching the low roofs, all new roofing being 6 Rib Colorsteel.
All water affected internal spaces will need to be relined, with damaged framing replaced and remediated.
This building is to be used as temporary classrooms whilst the 5 Classroom Junior block is rebuilt, so the work needs to be completed by the start of Term 1 2020.
