Overview

This Request for Tenders (RFT) is an invitation to suitably qualified contractors to submit a Tender for AMS 1: ILE 1,2 Pool & Site for Roofing, Skylights, Windows, Toilets Carpet, Water Main & Sewer at Ravensbourne School

Ravensbourne School has approximately 20 pupils’ and 5 teaching spaces. It is situated in the seaside suburb of Ravensbourne approximately 5km North East of the centre of Dunedin. Block 1 (Teaching Admin / Reception) & Block 2 (Junior – Creative Space and Storage) are single-story circa 1974.Constructed of metcom profile steel exterior cladding with a metdek profile steel roof (including skylights).

• The swimming pool and changing rooms are a timber framed, concrete block clearlite clad construction, circa 1961. The roofing has recently been replaced with trafficable clearlite (as per MoE standards).

• Ravensbourne School seek to refurbish / replace building elements nearing the end of their economic lives, upgrade non-compliant insulation and glazing levels, remove leaking skylight’s and replace failing underground drainage and water supply pipework. Student & staff toilet upgrades are to comply with modern MOE requirements. In addition a new Learning Support Coordinators office is to be built inside the existing Library space (separate pricing required).

a. The Contract Works required are:
o Complete works in accordance with Building Consent and arrange for all relevant inspections and obtain Code of Compliance Certificate.
o Remove and make-good obsolete skylight framing
o Replace guttering and downpipes
o Replacement roofing for Blocks 1 & 2 and Boiler House
o Install R 4.0 ceiling insulation where the existing is deficient
o Repair and paint barge boards
o Replace Block 1 & Block 2 awnings with trafficable Clearlite, paint existing awning structure.
o Replace and paint interior ceilings with gib, line with acoustic panels
o Block 2 replace existing with new LED lighting
o Reconfigure Block 2 Student Toilets to unisex cubicles and refurbish
o Refurbish Block 1 Teachers Toilets, remove incinerator and shower, refurbish
o Replace earthenware sections of main sewer (the existing earthenware foul sewer pipework currently runs under the lower school netball courts, which are asphalted. The sewer ranges up to 2 metres deep in this section. To minimise interference to the asphalted areas, a new route through grassed areas to a new connection to the Council sewer in Ohau Street is proposed.
o Replace water main. New backflow preventer
