Overview

This is a design build project to construct a new sunshade structure for Halsey Drive School. The school are looking to receive “turnkey’ proposals from suppliers. A proposal must allow for all costs associated with the consenting, design, and constructing the sunshade structure. Consenting includes obtaining an approved Building Consent along with lodging an Outline Plan of Work. The design and construction should allow for rainwater collection and associated drainage. The successful supplier will be required to update the school’s asset register and supply CAD drawings suitable for the Ministry of Education.

The sunshade structure will cover an existing hard court located to the north of a four-classroom block (Block 1). The structure must be sufficiently durable and robust to withstand a school environment and its activities and accommodate ball games such as Netball or other similar activities. The minimum coverage must be 20 metres by 25 metres, and 3.5 metres high.

The proposal should include the following information:

• a detailed list of all materials;
• full dimensions including dimensions for critical structural elements;
• details of warrantees supplied for products and materials;
• a specification of materials and produces;
• a sketch or illustration of the proposal structure;
• details of maintenance requirements;
• details of durability and life expectancy of materials and produces;
• a proposed construction programme;
• a proposed methodology for constructing the structure allowing for the continued uninterrupted operation of the school;
• a schedule of prices including quantities, rates, preliminaries, provisional sums, provisional items, prime cost sums;
• a schedule of prices for any extra optional items.
