Fairlie School has an existing open plan three classroom building built around 1975. The building is a single level, concrete floor, timber and aluminium door and window joinery, timber frame walls with cement sheet cladding, new coloursteel corrugated iron roof with a flat butynol clad central glazed roof window. The block is broken into three classrooms with wet areas, a central resource room, two bag storage and circulation areas, Storage room and music room with external access.
The classrooms are generally in an original condition, with a worn and generally poor cosmetic condition. The school wish to complete ILE (Innovative Learning Environment) and DQLS (Designing Quality Learning Spaces – Acoustics, Ventilation & Indoor Air Quality, Insulation and Lighting) upgrades to the entire block. The works are generally to include internal upgrade, minor alterations and replacement of external sliding doors and window units to classroom spaces.
