BACKGROUND
5YA plan included for a new FLS to block 6, upon the commencement of interior renovations the removal of internal linings uncovered rotten timber and “black mould”. This was tested and reports were submitted to the MOE who deemed the building to be demolished and replaced with a new transportable 2-classroom block.
REQUIRED SOLUTION (METHOD AND APPROACH)
i. Design and build of a new transportable 2-classroom block (block 6) including consenting. Existing services from the previous block which has been demolished will remain for tie-ins, and the aircon units from the previous block are to be reinstated.
ii. The design should include a covered deck with steps to the front and an entry deck with steps to the rear, both as indicated in the concept documentation attached.
iii. Roof to be mono pitch.
iv. There are no staging requirements, please see key milestones under section 2.2.b
v. Off-site construction of the transportable 2-classroom block should take place during term time, with the installation to take place during the school holidays.
vi. The design shall be in accordance with the Ministry of Education design guidelines: https://www.education.govt.nz/school/property/state-schools/design-standards/
vii. The Contractor will be engaged through a Major Works Contract. The Principal has a strong preference for RFT responses with no Contract related tags. If tags are raised, they will be considered on a case by case basis by the Principal as part of the RFT evaluation (Construction contracts for professional services and works). The Principal prefers there to be no drawings and specification related Tags.
