Overview

This Registration of Interest (ROI) is an invitation to suitably qualified contractors to submit a Tender for Main Building Contractor for ILE Upgrading Works at Stanley Bay School, Devonport, North Shore, Auckland .

The Contract Works required are:

Blocks 1,2+4- Lighting replacement with LED units.
To replace some of the old inefficient fluoro lighting with L.E.D. lighting units as follows:
Block 1 Admin + Staffroom, Block 1 Rooms 1,2,3,11
Block 2 Rooms 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 + Hallway + toilet
Block 4 Rooms 13+14
Block 1 Admin- Remediate uneven floor structure.
There is currently an issue in the Admin reception carpeted area regarding a change of level at the junction between the existing concrete and timber floors. It is suspected that this may be related to the apparent lack of underfloor ventilation. Following some further exploration, it is proposed to carry out remedial work at the same time as the other ILE works.
Blocks 1,2+4- ILE + Toilet upgrade works.
This work is proposed for this 5YA period and comprises the following indicative scope:
Block 1:
The proposal is to open the area between Classrooms 2 + 3 by removing the existing wide door to create collaborative learning areas and also improve existing window in Classroom 2. It is proposed to replace the tired and worn carpet and vinyl flooring in Classrooms 1, 2, 3 +11 and associated service spaces and breakout rooms etc.
An external Bag store for students is to provide on external wall to covered deck area.
Block 2:
The proposal is to open the area between Classrooms 7 + 8 by removing the existing wide door and open up the areas between Classrooms 4 + 5 and 9 +10 to create collaborative learning areas.
To assist breakout use of the associated existing large covered deck area, it is proposed to install 2 new bi-fold doors to service the existing Classrooms 4, 5 + 6.
Removal of an existing sink and external planter in the vicinity of Rm 5 would be carried out at the same time to create space for the external new doors to be installed.
It is also proposed to install glass sliding doors between associated corridors and Classrooms 8 + 9 to provide flexibility of use and improve visibility through to the existing corridor.
A new window and installation of double doors is proposed for the existing Withdrawal room.
There is also the potential for a glass partition from this room across corridor to Rm 7/8. (R
