Registrations of Interest from Main Building Contractor for ILE upgrading, Roofing works and Fire & Security upgrade for the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Kauri Park School are requested. The work includes:.
ROOFING:
Work required inclcudes replacing roofing and skydomes and rusy sections where neccessary. Work on a Plywood parapet and guttering and downpipes, flashings and matching existing roof. Blocks 1, 7, 7A,8, 10, 11.
FIRE ALARM SYSTEM:
There is currently a F1 Fire Alarm panel located in the Hall that has a Type 4 connected to it throughout the Hall Block only.
It is proposed that a new Analogue Addressable Fire Alarm is installed with a Type 4 providing a single detection, evacuation, lock down, voice over and class change system.
ILE WORKS:
ILE Project is for work to Block 1, Classrooms 3 and 4.
Block 1 is a 1960s building with a large portion of dated interior finishings.
This overall project planning concept looks at creating collaborative spaces and making good use of the existing spaces. There is a foot print extension of approximately 43m2 to fill the gap between the existing toilet/cloakbay area Rm 2- 3 to provide a shared learning space.
It is proposed that the classrooms will have open petitions between teaching spaces (Rms 2-3) + (4-6) and also have a flow on to the existing outdoor canopy covered hard space.
The DQLS standards for acoustic treatment wall linings/insulation, flooring, and lighting upgrade to LED will all be upgraded as part of this project. Although the natural ventilation aspects of the original design with the clerestory windows are generally competent, added benefit will consequently be added with the opening between classrooms and ability to open the sliding glass doors onto the front breakout canopied area.
The Rooms 3-4 toilets which the school wish to retain, will be upgraded to include the provision of warm water. The scope also includes replacement of urinals, pans, cisterns, plumbing, lighting, toilet partitions and wall linings.
