Auckland Grammar School Laboratory Refurbishments
Registration of Interest
The Board of Trustees of Auckland Grammar School seeks Registrations of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to carry out the refurbishment and upgrade of existing science laboratories Specialist Building on the Mountain Road Epsom campus.
Scope of Work
The extent and scope of work is as generally shown on the attached preliminary design level drawings.
The work will be carried out in 2 stages to meet funding availability and to enable the work to be carried out in term holiday periods.
Stage One Works, as identified on the attached drawings, will involve work in the existing Specialist Block East Wing and will include:
- Internal demolition on 2 levels
- Forming 3 new laboratory spaces and a new staff office
- Forming a new resource space on level 2 and refurbishments to the existing resource spaces on Level 3
- Running new power, data, water and gas supplies for new lab benches
- Supply and installation of new lab benches
- Provision of new services (this will involve some drilling through the concrete frame of the existing building) that will be connected to existing services routes
- Installation of new HVAC and lighting services
- General internal refurbishments including new flooring and suspended ceilings and general painting and decorating
Programme
It is hoped the main contractor will be in a position to start work on enabling works in the Term Break starting 1 October 2018 until 12 October 2018.
The main contract work will be undertaken in the term break (1st October to 12th October)with access expected to be available 29 October 2018. It is critical the Stage One works are completed by 16 January 2019.
