The Ministry is seeking a system for managing the utilisation of school transport assistance (the System). The System may include one or more of the following components:
- a means for caregivers to register students for school transport assistance
- a means for recording the time/location that each registered student boards and disembarks from their school bus (on-boarding)
- data management: collation, monitoring, processing and recording of data transmitted from on-boarding units on school buses (and associated data)
- a means for advising caregivers of student on-boarding and school bus location
The Ministry is open to considering a range of potential solutions including:
- The nature of the delivery model for any solution (e.g. purchase of a system or provision of a managed service, purchase by the Ministry or by school bus service providers)
- Procurement of either the System as a whole (one supplier) or of one or more components of the System from one or more suppliers
- Purchase of a service or software/hardware
- Proposed innovation and/or supplemental elements to the System.
The intention of this Registration of Interest is to identify capable providers and potential solutions. It is intended that the Ministry will consult with Tenderers shortlisted from this Registration of Interest to further develop their potential solutions before selecting of one or more preferred Tenderer following consideration of a detailed proposal.
