The school’s current on-site sewerage system is not fit for purpose, which has resulted in a series of failures causing significant disruption and cost to the school as well as posing a risk to health. This project seeks to address these issues by replacing the existing plant and Land Application Area (LAA) in order to provide a fit for purpose, long term waste management solution.
The Contract Works required are:
i. Decommission, remove, and dispose of existing plant and decommission existing LAA
ii. Construct new LAA, including planting, during the school term. Final position of LAA is yet to be determined.
iii. Install and commission new Advantex AX-200 sewerage plant (To be undertaken over the school holidays by a specialist subcontractor nominated by the main contractor.) New plant is to have a data connection to allow for remote monitoring.
iv. Install new fencing around LAA and plant
v. Possible marking out of new sports field adjacent LAA if required
vi. Supply temporary toilet facilities for staff on site over holidays while plant works are underway.
vii. Provide/arrange a 24 month service and monitoring contract.
viii. The project is to be undertaken as a single stage. It is envisaged that the preparation of the LAA is to be undertaken during Term 3, while the decommissioning and replacement of the plant must be undertaken over the Term 3 holiday period.
ix. The site is a typical school site with a number of buildings, hardscaping, and grassed surfaces. It consists of the main school site, and a sports field on the opposite side of the road. Access to both sites in via Oxford Road. The current LAA is located under the top sports field on the main school site. The new LAA is proposed to be located within a smaller area of the current LAA, however this is still to be confirmed.
x. The Contractor will be engaged through a Medium Works Contract.

Thank you for submitting a Registration of Interest for this project. The three highest scoring responses have been shortlisted.
The design of the system and LAA has now been completed and is currently being peer reviewed.
It is expected the peer review will be completed mid August, with the Request for Tender period running from mid/late August to mid September.
The target date for awarding the contract is the 8th of October, with LAA construction works beginning late October for completion during November, and the plant installation, commissioning, and switch-over to the new system taking place over the summer holidays.
