Registrations of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Contractors (Suppliers) to carry out construction of approximately 30m of 3m high retaining wall, and a further approximately 40m of lower retaining wall, all adjacent to existing and proposed parts of the Performing Arts Block. Preliminary engineers advice proposes construction of a retaining along the west side of the neighbour’s driveway, designed to support the Arts building for gravity and earthquake forces. It will be a significant structure with say (as a general idea) 400mm diameter timber poles at 1000mm centres embedded 4.0 metres into the ground and retaining 3 metres of ground. The wall will need to be such a significant design not really for the building itself, but for the forces generated by the machinery behind the wall during construction of proposed new building to occur subsequently. An additional retaining wall is required to the south side of the building to support the building since the existing foundation walls are inadequate.
