The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is the lead agency and became the New Zealand PEPPOL authority, with the responsibility of overseeing New Zealand’s e-Invoicing framework.
E-Invoicing is expected to be adopted by a number of Government agencies over the next 12-24 months. MBIE’s goal is to increase the adoption of e-Invoicing and this approach is aimed at making it as easy as possible for government agencies to start using e-Invoicing.
To make it easier for New Zealand Government agencies to adopt e-Invoicing, MBIE will shortly issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) with the view to create a panel of PEPPOL e-Invoicing Service Providers who will supply a range of services to government agencies in New Zealand.
The scope of the Panel is limited to Service Providers who specialise in the provision of PEPPOL Capabilities and Associated Services and who have the technical and operational capability to meet the requirements of New Zealand Government agencies.
We intend to go to market in the first half of December 2020.
