Overview

Health New Zealand is seeking an experienced design-and-build contractor to deliver the Tokoroa Hospital Laboratory Expansion. The project will address critical space constraints by providing a new, approximately 90–100 m² offsite-manufactured modular building near the existing laboratory, together with minor alterations within the operational laboratory. The new facility will provide safe and compliant office, storage, meeting, staff amenity and break spaces. The scope includes design coordination, consenting and approvals, manufacture and fit-out, site enabling works, foundations, transport and installation, accessible connections, drainage and utility services, and complete testing, commissioning and handover.

This opportunity is suited to suppliers with demonstrated experience delivering offsite modular buildings and coordinating construction activities in live, operational environments (preferably healthcare or similarly sensitive settings). The successful supplier will take single point responsibility for a complete, coordinated and compliant solution, including managing interfaces with Health New Zealand’s incumbent electrical, data, fire protection and access-control contractors. Health New Zealand is looking for a capable and available team with a credible programme and consenting strategy, robust quality and risk management systems and a practical methodology that protects ongoing hospital and laboratory operations throughout delivery.
