Health New Zealand is issuing this notice for a Future Procurement Opportunity, with the intention to seek future proposals from Main Contractors for the construction of the Rotorua Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).

This project includes construction of a new roof and internal ward fit out of the Special Care Baby Unit, including required medical gases, data, electrical, HVAC and hydraulics. The unit will be delivered within the live environment of Rotorua Hospital, therefore will require a contractor with recent experience working in live hospital environments. The unit comprises of two separate ward spaces for babies in monitoring, an isolation room, whānau room and staff areas.
