Overview

The Waiora Waikato Hospital Helipad Remediation Request for Tender, is the subsequent tender to the Advance Notice Ref: 34420919 issued to the market on 3/07/2026.

The purpose of this RFT is to identify and appoint a suitably experienced main (lead) contractor with the capability, capacity and methodology to safely deliver the Wairoa Helipad Remediation works within a live hospital and aviation or helipad environment. Respondents must demonstrate a proven track record in delivering construction or remediation works in operationally constrained environments, with particular emphasis on aviation-related experience, airside or helipad works, or projects involving critical access, strict safety controls, and continuity of essential services. Further the selected respondent must hold $50 million public liability insurance.

Remedial work identified as part of design include, but not limited to:
• The erection of a new Palisade wall, retaining wall repair and stormwater infrastructure adjustments.
• Surficial scrapping and replacement of subgrade with engineered fill to 2/3s of the Helipad.
• Repaint and markings to establish Helipad.
• Reinstatement of catch nets and lighting infrastructure

The conclusion of the RFT will identify a preferred supplier for the Project with whom Health NZ – Waikato may enter into a construction contract.
