Overview

We are seeking a vendor who can provide AI mammography solutions for BreastScreen Aotearoa (BSA), New Zealand’s national breast screening programme.

We require in-market AI solutions for:
• Mammography machine-reading, and
• Breast density reporting.
Solutions must be able to be incorporated into BSA’s blind double-read screening workflow.

Approach is phased, including 1) validation (trials), 2) implementation (pilot) and 3) phased post-implementation national rollout and support.

We do not want:
• Custom model / solution development
• Solutions that are unapproved, in development, or not yet in active commercial deployment
• Marketplaces, where the marketplace must be purchased or in use by HNZ in order to connect and use the AI solution(s)
• “Master services”: offers to monitor, evaluate, and / or provide other professional services without in-market solutions
• Solutions for other breast pathways (e.g. breast cancer risk prediction and stratification).

Note: potential Respondents are asked to email bsa.ict.replacement@tewhatuora.govt.nz with their contact details before 17:00 NZT Monday 01 June 2026 to ensure they will be included in an invitation to attend an online Respondent briefing session, scheduled for 09:00 NZT Tuesday 02 June 2026.
