Advance Notice – National Network Inter-Site Programme
This Advance Notice informs the market of Health New Zealand intention to progress procurement activity for the National Network Inter-Site Programme, a key initiative under the Health Digital Investment Plan (HDIP) Horizon One priorities. The programme focuses on stabilising core digital infrastructure and strengthening foundational capabilities to support future digital transformation.
The National Inter-Site Network is a critical enabling capability, supporting resilient, secure, and scalable connectivity across the health system. Current priorities include strengthening Networks, Hosting and Workloads, and Cyber Security to address operational and clinical risks and improve baseline capability.
Health New Zealand previously conducted a Request for Information (RFI) as an early market engagement exercise to understand supplier capability and delivery approaches for modernising large-scale, clinically critical networks. Insights from the RFI highlighted the importance of prioritising the Inter-Site Domain, sequencing delivery to reduce risk, and ensuring clear end-to-end accountability for connectivity.
In response, Health New Zealand will adopt a phased procurement approach, initially focusing on establishing core infrastructure and stabilisation activities before progressing broader transformation.
The Request for Proposal (RFP) has been postponed while a revised timeline is developed, aligned with the HDIP Implementation Plan and All-of-Government digital direction. This will support improved investment sequencing, delivery certainty, and continuity of services.
A further update, including indicative procurement timelines, will be released via GETS once confirmed.
Please do not submit responses or questions to this Advance Notice.
