This Advance Notice is to inform the market of an upcoming procurement opportunity for peer support specialists in Hutt Hospital Emergency Department and a crisis recovery cafe service in Lower Hutt. The intention is to give providers early visibility ahead of a formal release.
The opportunity:
Growing capacity in mental health and addiction services and workforce is a key priority for this Government. Health NZ I Te Whatu Ora recognises the need to provide alternative options that foster a supportive environment, lived-experience-based support for people who are in distress related to either mental health and/or addiction concerns.
This procurement opportunity is for two initiatives; peer support specialists in the Emergency Department at Hutt Hospital and a crisis recovery cafe service in Lower Hutt.
While each initiative has its own established service model and commissioning parameters that must be upheld, there is flexibility to adapt and tailor delivery models to better meet local need. Health NZ is open to commissioning services collaboratively where this adds value.
Procurement Approach:
The opportunity is expected to be released via GETS and will be a single stage open market request for proposals for the Lower Hutt region. The process will be conducted in accordance with the Government Procurement Rules.
Details of any briefing or Q&A session will be included in the procurement documents at release.
Next Steps for Providers:
This notice does not require any action and is not a request for proposals. Suppliers are encouraged to monitor GETS for the formal release and prepare internal resources accordingly.
No information beyond what appears on GETS will be provided before the tender release. All communications must occur through GETS.
