Overview

Health NZ is seeking Staff Air Shuttle Services for two districts requiring routine shuttle services that depart at scheduled times on standard business days, with fairly consistent passenger numbers per flight.

Whangārei – Kaitāia – Whangārei
To support service delivery, Health NZ requires a Monday–Friday return air shuttle operating between Whangārei and Kaitāia, transporting up to eight clinical staff per flight. The journey takes approximately 25-minutes each way.
Clinical staff deliver outpatient clinics in Kaitāia, treating patients. Kaitāia is the last major town on State Highway 1 and is located 160 km north of Whangārei, making regular road travel impractical for daily clinical services.

Napier – Wairoa – Napier
The Wairoa hospital provides emergency care, Outpatient Clinics, limited surgical services, maternity, inpatient care, and is co-located with the Wairoa GP practice. The hospital faces challenges with locally available staff and relies on specialist clinicians provided from Hawke’s Bay to run the Outpatient Clinics and provide professional education.
Wairoa district has a population of ca. 8,000 and is 118 km from Napier. Health NZ requires air shuttle services transporting up to six clinical staff each business day. The flight takes 20-30 minutes each way, depending on the aircraft used. Return flights are required four to five business days a week
