Health New Zealand is undertaking the Cath Lab 3 Replacement (the Project). The catheterisation laboratory suite 3 of the Meade Clinical Centre, Waikato Hospital, used for diagnostic coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention, and structural heart procedures, is end of life and becoming increasingly unreliable.

To be used as a structural lab CCL3 will require all the key features of a coronary lab. An order of the new Philips Azurion imaging unit has been placed by HSS. The project seeks to implement the demolition, building alterations, installation and commissioning of the new imaging system.
