This procurement relates to the delivery of community based mental health and wellbeing support services to mothers and their whānau living in rural areas within the Waikato district, This programme of work has been aligned to Kahu Taurima | Maternity and Early Years, a priority programme within Te Pae Tata. It contributes to the deliverable to improve access to specialist mental health services, as part of the development of a maternal mental health and wellbeing pathway.
The primary aim is to improve, promote and support mental health and wellbeing rates for mothers and their whānau in a way that is culturally responsive to them. Health New Zealand are seeking an interested community or NGO provider with expertise in this, or a related field who will take responsibility for coordinating Infant and Maternal Mental Health in rural areas within the Waikato district.
